We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Country Manager to oversee a total of 40 Branches across Germany and Switzerland, reporting into the Head of International Retail.  In this role, you will manage a team of 8 including a small team of Area Managers and HR & Recruitment.

This role is responsible for driving sales and profitability across Germany & Switzerland through the implementation of defined operating standards and effective team management and development.

You will oversee new store openings within the regions, including involvement in site selection and negotiations. You will also explore new opportunities for the brand, acting as a key liaison between the Retail and Head Office teams. 

This is a field-based position, so the location is flexible but you will be required to travel between our Branches and Head Office in Ingolstadt area.

What will you do as a Country Manager?

  1. Communicate & Deliver Retail Strategy: To successfully communicate & implement the company vision & strategy across the Area by translating the vision into defined operating standards and KPIs.
  2. Team Management & Development: To lead, motivate, develop and coach the Area Managers and their teams to maximise sales and profit potential so that the Area sales and profit contribution targets are met or exceeded on a continuous basis.  Ensure that all company ‘people’ policies are adhered to across the Region i.e. recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, succession planning and administration of Performance Development Reviews. 
  3. Recruitment & Resource Planning: Recruit and select management teams within the Area, ensuring at least 95% management availability at all times.  Ensure recruitment processes are in line with the Company best practice and that new recruits are able to display the Company Behaviours, with strong customer focus.
  4. Manage Financial Targets & Success: To be accountable for Profit & Loss, to maximise strict controls governing all P&L activity across the Area including maximising all sales potential and controlling all costs in line with set budgets.
  5. Manage Communication & Administration: To act as a key contact between Branches and Head Office, ensuring that any updates are communicated effectively and that improvements are made in operational processes and procedures.

What you will need to succeed in this role?

  • Previous High Street Retail experience, at Area Manager or Country Manager level
  • Experience of managing and developing high performing teams
  • Strong commercial awareness and detailed understanding of the Fashion Retail market
  • A hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and verbal
  • Full flexibility to travel as required
