This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join our Commercial Finance team.  Across Monsoon, Accessorize and Monsoon Childrens brands, we operate over 1000 stores across 56 territories, a number of which are through Franchise operations.   As International Finance Manager, you will provide commercial financial support to the International team and international Franchise partners.  You will develop management information for the International business, linking this with the rest of the Group, and assist in the formulation and implementation of the international business strategy.

This opportunity would be ideally suited to someone who is looking for a broad and varied commercial finance role, with responsibilities ranging from posting journals, to working with our International Director to create a 3 year strategy for our Franchise business.  

What will you do as an International Finance Manager?

Management & Relationships

  • Establish strong working relationships with the International Commercial and Operations team and all internal parties, to provide financial support to the business.
  • Provide Monsoon leadership team with timely and relevant information on the performance of the International business.
  • Develop effective relationships with external Franchise partners.
  • Ensure all Commercial Finance reporting requirements are delivered.

Key Deliverables

  • Own the Financial Planning and Forecasting, end-to-end process for the International Franchise business. Ensure delivery of a robust Franchise budget, accompanied by appropriate commercial challenge.
  • Manage the month-end accounting process and co-ordinate the month end activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure all group Finance deliverables are met and Franchise results are reported accurately, including P&L performance, balance sheet management and cash-flow reporting for group treasury.
  • Weekly review of sales information - detailed analysis to support the Trading decision making process.
  • Forward forecasting analysis to better manage a "no surprises" way of working and early sight of financial risk.
  • Review of the Franchise store portfolio - providing financial data to support new store openings and closings.  Assess the financial risk and implications of changing store base and brand mix.
  • Develop the management reporting for the International Franchise business to enhance visibility of partner performance
  • Strategic analysis around the Franchise business model to identify opportunities around profitability.
  • FX variance analysis - robust tracking and analysis of the FX impact on the profitability and viability of the Franchise markets.
  • Pricing and brand analysis - to identify future potential of individual franchise markets.
  • Project work and business modelling, to understand the financial potential of commercial decisions.

What you will need to succeed as International Finance Manager?

  • Fully qualified ACA / CIMA with 1-2 years+ PQE
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinker
  • Previous experience in a Commercial Finance role
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A motivated team player who is looking to learn and progress his/her career in a fast paced retail environment
  • International experience - desirable
