We’re looking for someone with hands-on infrastructure and service delivery experience. You will be responsibile for maintaining the operational health and performance of core IT platforms and services. This position will act as deputy to the IT Infrastructure & Service Manager and will progressively take ownership of network strategy and cloud transformation initiatives.
What will you do as an Infrastructure and Services Lead?
- Act as deputy to the IT Infrastructure & Service Manager, leading operational infrastructure and service functions, largely through 3rd Party management.
- Support day-to-day performance and availability of networks, servers, endpoints, backups, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Work on projects and own service transition for new Cloud infrastructure.
- Lead and resolve infrastructure-related escalations and major incidents.
- Drive improvements in IT service delivery, documentation, monitoring, and vendor collaboration.
- Build strategic knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, SaaS platforms, and modern cloud architecture.
- Progressively take ownership of the network estate (LAN/WAN, switching, firewalls, Wi-Fi).
- Maintain secure, patched, and compliant infrastructure through rigorous change and access control processes.
- Contribute to DR and business continuity plans, ensuring documentation and recoverability.
- Share and build technical knowledge across wider team members and promote a continuous improvement culture.
What will you need to succeed as an Infrastructure and Services Lead?
Essential:
- Strong hands-on experience in infrastructure support within a retail or multi-site business.
- Proficiency in networking, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory.
- Track record of resolving infrastructure incidents and delivering infrastructure change
- Hands on knowledge/experience of cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
- Strong communicator with excellent documentation and stakeholder skills.
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving capability and service mindset.
- Ambition to grow toward more leadership responsibilities.
Desirable:
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud migration and run.
- Exposure to ITIL practices and service management frameworks.
- Experience in vendor or third-party relationship management.
- Familiarity with cyber security principles in an infrastructure context.
