The Assistant Garment Technologist supports the technical development and production of childrenswear garments, ensuring quality, fit, and construction align with brand standards and childrens product safety compliance. This role provides essential administrative and technical support to the team, maintaining accurate records and assisting in the smooth progression from pre production sample to production. This is an entry level position for an individual looking to start their career in product technology.
What will you do as a Assistant Technologist?
- Prepare samples for fit sessions, taking detailed notes and recording key adjustments.
- Assist in garment fittings, measuring, and quality checks under supervision.
- Assist reviewing fabric and component test reports under supervision.
- Organize and maintain fit and technical documentation in Excel and PLM systems.
- Monitor and update tech packs to reflect changes from development through production.
- Support supplier coordination by ensuring clear, accurate technical communication.
- Assist in maintaining garment consistency through accurate grading and measurement checks.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical knowledge.
What will you need to succeed as our Assistant Technologist?
- An educational background in pattern cutting, clothing technology, textiles or production is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of garment construction, fit, and grading principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and PLM systems.
