We’re excited to be looking for a Channel Merchandiser to join our Monsoon team. We are looking for someone who will be responsible for achieving profit targets across our online web concessions and global store portfolio. Management of stock and timeline for launching product on time. As well as ensuring the smooth running of the channel merchandising team. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities: 

Stores 

  • Responsible for all regional stock queries for the business from market and franchises. 
  • Manage sales, stock and profit within region to achieve cost of markdown and terminal stock targets, where necessary adapting in season. 
  • Ensure all location product quirks and trading lessons learnt are fed back to the buying and merchandising teams lessons learnt to improve future season’s buys and stock allocations. 
  • Ensure specific store groups have the correct stock packages, including airports. 
  • Keep up to date with all brand promotional activity, suggesting promotions and markdowns to improve sell through and reduce cost of MD and terminal in International markets. 
  • Manage store/market openings and closures as required for the region, ensuring that new stores are appropriately graded for space and planned density.  Monitor replenishment and performance against budget. 
  • Commercially aware of performance and stock levels across the business by department and the impact on own region. 
  • Market, UK store and WDC visits if required. 
  • Manage clearance and old season stock for the market 
  • Responsible for setting up and flexing allocation and replenishment dynamics each season, in consultation with core merch teams. 
  • Review global events calendar and ensure peak periods and market events are analysed and the appropriate stock is built 

Web Concessions 

  • Communicates regularly with the concession’s partners, to influence trade and look for sales growth opportunities, representing Monsoon in weekly trade meeting. 
  • Onboarding new concessions 
  • Conducting season planning reviews with concession partners, to identify any missed opportunities and areas to maximise sales. 
  • Reviewing concessions websites and working with external parties to ensure products displayed in best ways/ categories etc 
  • Using data analysis to identify and prioritise major sales drivers and highlight deficiencies such as best sellers, availability and option count. 
  • Stock Availability – work with the merchandising team to ensure correct stock is allocated to support the product plans and customer demand 
  • Work with other departments to create and manage the concessions critical path completing full end to end process. 
  • Supports the sale process in order to maximise sales, whilst protecting margin and profit. 
  • Supports the senior channel merchandiser to ensure company and department information is communicated effectively to team through weekly team meetings.  
  • Oversees the enrichment data enrichment for new season launch and subsequent monthly inputs in accordance with the critical path, highlighting any issues that will delay product launch. 
  • Co-ordinate with DC to release any held stock, investigate any order issues and organise returns 
  • Regularly provide intake forecasts for concession partner 
  • Review opportunities for marketing with concession ensuring that samples and images are provided in time to support. 

Team 

  • Supports with managing the workload of the Channel Merchandising team. 
  • Works closely with team members to ensure staff are sufficiently trained across all concession and UK/INT tasks and that there is adequate cover for holiday. 

What will you need as Channel Merchandiser?

  • Previous experience within channel/branch merchandising or space planning 
  • Excellent communication 
  • Strong organisation and planning skills 
  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to identify best practices 
  • Team management experience
