We’re looking for a qualified Commercial Finance Manager to look after Retail and Property across our Monsoon and Accessorize stores. 

What will you do a Commercial Finance Manager?

  • Business Partner the UK Retail and Property teams providing insightful analysis to support decision making.
  • Take the lead on financial support for the Groups store portfolio, producing and presenting analysis to drive recommendations about any changes in the store base, including new store opportunities, refit of existing store estate or store closures.
  • Evaluate investment in stores (opex and capex) by running timely post investment appraisals to help inform future decisions.
  • Work with the Retail Director and his team to influence strategy whilst supporting to enable delivery of budgeted costs (opex, payroll and capex)
  • Drive improvement in management reporting and analysis for store related financials.
  • Manage the Retail Finance analyst in producing detailed store numbers for period end, cashflow, store profitability reviews and any other ad hoc store related analysis.
  • Drive budget & forecast process for retail & property.
  • Partner and communicate effectively with Property team & Retail Director/ RBMs to ensure Finance team has a strong understanding of Property Activities and UK Retail Operations
  • Delivery of insightful performance of UK Retail.  Identify risks, opportunities and challenge the teams to ensure targets delivered improving overall Sales and Profitability across the channel.
  • Attend weekly property board meetings as well as pre-board preparation meetings with the brand/retail and property teams to fully assess any new store opportunities.  Offer appropriate level of challenge and support to ensure business cases are robust and complete.
  • Drive forecast and budgeting process for UK Retail & Property including:

- Agreeing assumptions in advance of detailed work, to include key cost areas like NMW and Energy assumptions.

- Assessing risks & opportunities to the numbers presented.

- Set up modelling/ scenario analysis to assess sensitivity to numbers presented.

  • Working with Retail Analyst to ensure monthly routines are completed and reviewed in timely and accurate way.
  • Period end: Store costs, property costs and retail team overheads
  • Monthly board pack analysis
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Cashflow forecast for occupancy costs

What you will need to succeed as a Commercial Finance Manager?

  • Qualified (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) with commercial finance experience.
  • Proactive, resilient, adaptable, and “can-do” team player with a drive to make a difference
  • Excellent communication – ability to articulate orally and in writing, complex and detailed information in an easy-to-understand manner to all levels of the business
  • Attention to detail, highly analytical and comfortable dealing with large datasets/advanced modelling
  • Ability to deliver with a flexible approach when required
  • Strong Excel and System skills


  • Experience in Retail/consumer facing industry environment
  • Experience of reporting systems (Coda, Cognos)
