We are now looking for a HR Manager to join our HR team, supporting the Retail teams across the UK and EIRE. 

Reporting into the Head of HR, and with the support of a HR Advisor and Talent Acquisition Specialist this role in responsible for leading the HR activities for the retail teams. You will work closely in both a hands on and leadership capacity to develop and deliver effective people solutions that support the business strategy.

What will you do as our HR Manager?

Business Partnering

  • Partner the management team to deliver strategic priorities, identifying people implications and delivering the required actions on time and on budget, to support business strategy.
  • Influence, craft, agree and support the delivery of strategic plans in business areas, in conjunction with the business managers and other elements of the HR function e.g., talent management, leadership development, people costs, improving business performance, demand and succession planning.
  • Develop high performance team through effective performance/ capability management, coaching and direction.
  • Ensure the management team is equipped to communicate and promote people policies and processes to the business.

Employee Relations & Communication

  • Ensure HR Operations procedures are delivered in line with best practice.
  • Deliver quality, ER advice, ensuring the employment relationship is fair, consistent and commercial on all matters. 
  • Manage strategic ER / people issues, contracting in the services of specialist knowledge where required.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the legal framework in which HR operates. Identify gaps in existing HR procedures and contribute to the development of new HR procedures.
  • Consult and deliver new/amended policies and procedures into the business area.
  • Ensure managers are informed and supported in employment law changes and how these will impact their responsibilities, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the delivery of clear, concise employee communication to business areas, in co-ordination with the wider HR team.

Organisational Change Management

  • Develop and deliver effective and efficient organization structures for business areas, allowing for flexibility and planned growth.
  • Lead change and organisational design activities; advising and guiding management through design, re-organisation, transfer and redundancy processes as required.

Recruitment

  • Support the business area recruit and retain talent through effective recruitment practices, in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition specialist.

Retention and Engagement

  • Responsible for the engagement strategy for business area, ensuring cost effective engagement strategies are used proactively to improve retention and minimize recruitment costs.

Learning and Development

  • You will work with your business areas to understand their learning and development needs, providing guidance and delivering appropriate solutions.  

HR Analytics/Metrics and Insight

  • Responsible for the accuracy of HR data, ensuring full use of the HR system to delivery HR data for measurement and analysis.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of value-added solutions using and interpreting the relevant insight dashboards, people survey, exit interviews, external benchmarking etc.

Other

  • Effectively manages initiatives/ projects in line with the business strategy and objectives. 
  • Line manage direct reports to support their growth and development.
  • Act as a role model to the team, encouraging high standards and challenge team members to achieve the most efficient and proactive results for the business.

  • Experience in working in a HR Manager role, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Strategic thinker with creative, innovative, commercial solution focused experience.
  • Technical expertise in the areas of organisation design, employee relations, engagement, performance management and organisation capability development.
  • Flexible and adaptable, demonstrating drive and resilience to get the job done.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, self-motivated and credible.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective business relationships at all levels.
  • Customer focused, highly skilled influencer and change agent.
  • Maintains confidentiality and displays discretion at all times.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as and when required.
  • CIPD qualified would be advantageous.
