We are on a journey to bring Monsoon to a wider audience, re-educating the public on our heritage and our new brand offering.  As part of this we have a new house style for Monsoon and we are looking for the visual keeper of our brand identity ensuring we are consistent and best in class across every Monsoon touchpoint.   

What will you do as our Head of Brand Design? 

Management:

  • Responsible for final output on all multimedia customer facing communications including but not limited to: Homepage, emails, digital advertising, social media, direct mail, instore windows, POS, and packaging. 
  • Lead the Design team, overseeing and consistent implementation of our brand guidelines, standards and creative execution across all creative, signing off all work before it goes live. 
  • Develop the skill set of the creative team providing technical and creative support. 
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time and to a high standard. 
  • Work with copy to generate cohesion between copy and creative. 
  • Managing the creative budget. 
  • Ensure assets are being shared with the larger business for international usage. 

Communication:

  • Be a key part of the wider Marketing team with a keen understanding of the campaign calendar. 
  • Communicate projects and direction with key stake holders across the business. 
  • Present creative concepts to internal and external teams to gain buy in and present a clear direction. 
  • Understand the big picture of company direction and filter down to team and external suppliers. 

Creative:

  • You will manage the entire creative process from ideation through to final delivery. 
  • Own the Art Direction or our elevated ecomm shoots, working with the already established studio team to capture our seasonal highlights for assets across websites, emails, social and in store. 
  • Oversee the brand direction on all campaign shoots, bringing in additional support (Art Directors, Stylists) as needed. 
  • You will generate impactful creative assets across various channels and formats. 
  • Act as brand guardian ensuring a consistent visual tone of voice across the customer experience both in store and online. 
  • Maintain and uphold the style guidelines for the brand. 
  • Liaise with third party agencies on major campaigns.  

The perfect candidate will have a wealth of design and management experience and will have previous fashion experience either in-house or from an agency. 
 
You will have lots of skills in your toolbox but find these to be at the core of your work: 

  • A strong creative skill set and a firm grasp of developing brand strategy. 
  • Experience in software for digital and print such as Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and After Effects. 
  • Experience working on both digital and print projects (ideally including window display). 
  • A general understanding of photography and light. 
  • In depth knowledge of typography. 
  • Organised, with a pragmatic approach. 
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects at once. 
  • Keen eye for detail, you notice every pixel. 

There are fundamental characteristics that will make you a success in this role, which include: 

  • You consider yourself a balance between creative and analytical. 
  • Are on top of trends in fashion and retail as well as graphics and design. 
  • Know your kerning from you leading, your GIF’s from your MP4’s, and are comfortable on press or saving a file for web. 
  • Lead by example and are happy to get stuck in when needed. 
  • Are customer obsessed, always thinking of the customer journey. 
  • Enjoy learning and are not afraid to fail. 
  • Are curious by nature, ask lots of questions and believe good design serves a purpose. 
  • Scrutinize the details while still seeing the big picture, are always thinking of what lies ahead. 
  • Comfortable giving honest and constructive feedback with the ability to develop from a critique. 
  • Remain calm under pressure and are a creative problem solver, with the ability to adapt to change. 
  • Have a positive approach with a can-do attitude.
