We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team to support delivering the business intelligence strategy. In this role you will support the business by transforming data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions.

What will you do as a Business Intelligence Analyst?

  • Provide 1st / 2nd line support of all Business Intelligence related support calls.
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Capture business requirements leading to the production of report specifications.
  • The production of reporting solutions and BI through MicroStrategy and SQL.
  • Respond quickly to business requests for information, data and insight.
  • Manage the scoping, development and delivery of small projects to the business.
  • Act as the business representative for changes to reporting services.
  • Pro-actively identify opportunities and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Continuously monitor and improve business satisfaction with the quality of service delivered.
  • Help the business refine processes in the current environment.
  • Manage user acceptance testing.
  • Carry out system testing when relevant.
  • Pro-actively flag risks or issues with recommendations on how to mitigate or resolve them.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the business, business strategies and IT roadmap with the aim of understanding how to deliver benefit through enhanced reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure that the project and service delivery teams and the business representatives have a clear and unambiguous expectation of reporting deliverables including priorities and timescales.
  • Assess the feasibility of proposed Business Intelligence developments and projects.
  • Ensure that current and future reporting service requirements are identified, understood and documented
  • Be a subject matter expert and advocate of Business Intelligence within the company.

What you will need to succeed as our Business Intelligence Analyst?

  • Experience of working within a BI and Analytics team.
  • Experience of using MicroStrategy.
  • Very good knowledge of SQL and ability to handle large datasets.
  • Experience of working with databases and data modelling, ideally including semi structured or unstructured data.
  • Be highly numerate and excited to work with data, interpreting the numbers and translating them into actionable items.
  • Excellent communication, with an eye for detail and the ability to explain complex logic to non-technical audiences.
  • Have a positive “can do” attitude and can think outside the box to overcome obstacles.
  • Possess a “business head” with a focus on profit.
  • Experience using BusinessObjects, Azure & Machine Learning would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience with Python programs would also be beneficial
