We are looking for a Procurement Manager who can cover multiple categories, ideally with a background in Retail. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to build a strong operational role across multiple categories and grow their accountability.

Working with key stakeholders across the business, you will source, negotiate, contract and implement new supplier agreements, ensuring that there is appropriate governance in place for all aspects of on-going supplier and contract management.  Leading the effective delivery of sourcing projects, which minimise the total cost of ownership and risk mitigation, while providing procurement expertise across the business.

What will you do as a Procurement Manager?

• Identify, develop & deliver category projects which meet business area 3rd party service needs that are innovative & deliver sustainable value for money savings & benefits
• Ensure category compliance to the end-to-end procurement process, Strategy, Sourcing Execution and Implementation & Management
• Ensuring the adherence to the procurement policy
• Develop and deliver 1-3 year category strategies and the resulting sourcing projects to meet business requirements whilst minimising the total cost of ownership.
• Manage complex procurement initiatives and sourcing projects through the full procurement process including contract award and signature
• Govern contract administration, supplier performance & relationship management for all category agreements ensuring the services continue to meet business requirements, the contracted specification and are in line with contracting/PSL policy
• Develop and maintain long-term value adding relationships with Directors and Senior Management to understand business needs, deliver effective demand management and address any compliance issues with 3rd party suppliers.
• Promote procurement best practices and processes
• Provide market knowledge and subject matter expertise to inform the end-to-end management of the category’s and support the business in key sourcing decisions.
• Lead complex tenders and negotiations ensuring appropriate plans are in place
• Re-evaluate programme priorities as the business environment evolves, recommending adjustments to the roadmap as new priorities emerge. 
• Ensure cost approval processes are adhered to for OPEX budgets
• Keep abreast of market changes which will have an impact on the business.

• Influencing & making commercial recommendations to Directors and Senior Management of relevant support areas to the business.
• Setting category direction and making commercial recommendations with Programme, Supplier and Project managers across the business
• Supporting policy and process from Legal counsel and Corporate Governance
• Implementing Sourcing & Ethical trading policies & procedures

What you will need to succeed in this role?

• Highly self-motivated and driven. Pro-active, 'can-do' attitude, someone who welcomes a challenge and seeks a solution
• Commercially astute, an analytical and inquisitive mind with excellent attention to detail - operates strategically with an understanding of the 'big picture'
• A good track record of successful negotiation and contracting
• Personable, diplomatic and approachable, with an enthusiastic and motivational nature and an overall passion for procurement excellence
• Ability to think strategically whilst delivering at pace, balancing short term and long term gains
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business including Director level
• Strong third party management (vendor, implementation, consultancy and support)
• Retail experience including packaging & labelling would be ideal
