Working as a sales assistant for Monsoon Accessorize is really rewarding – one of my favourite aspects is getting to see all the new stock and trends that come into the store. I’m always surprised to see the diverse cross section of customers that shop in Monsoon Accessorize.
I joined the company as a sales assistant after an interview at the job centre. I was involved with the launch of the shop (our Colney Fields branch) as I’ve been here since it opened! In my role I’ve been able to build up my experience and had responsibility for the childrenswear section of the store, which has helped me to prepare for the next step of my career. I’ve recently had an opportunity to go for a secondment role and have just been promoted to floor manager, which is great.
Overall, I’d describe the culture here as people focused, friendly and wanting to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
My typical day: No two days are the same, so I could be doing a Kids move and remerchandising or working on the tills and focussing on customer service. The variety is one of my favourite things about working here.
